NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office Office and Niigata Prefecture North Area Local Government are supporting the emergency transportation from the prefecture north area to "Niigata Prefectural Shibata Hospital" which is a critical care hospital, Niikai Tohoku Expressway Seiro Shibata Interchange (IC) "Ambulance exit route" will be installed between Article Interchange (IC).

Outline of ambulance exit route

Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway Seiro Shibata IC-Nakajo IC In-bound near the Kajikawa Shiunji Bus Stop (BS), one passage and gate will be installed as an ambulance exit (exit only).

The "Ambulance exit route" is installed for use by emergency vehicles such as ambulances, and ordinary vehicles cannot be used.

Expected effect

In emergency transportation from the northern part of the prefecture to Shibata Hospital, the distance traveled is shortened compared to when using the current Seiro Shibata IC, and the transportation time is shortened by avoiding traffic congestion on general roads, saving the lifesaving rate. It is expected to improve.

NEXCO EAST makes the best use of the Expressway network, cooperates with areas along the line, and supports strengthening access to emergency medical hospitals in the area.
