Notice of night traffic closure due to 4-lane construction (September to October 2018)

NEXCO EAST Niigata Regional Head Office (Chuo-ku, Niigata City) E18 Joshin-Etsu Expressway (upper and lower lines) between Shinanomachi Interchange (IC) and Joetsu Junction (JCT) will be closed at night due to 4-lane construction.

We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation as it is a necessary suspension of traffic for the purpose of turning into four lanes.

• Please make a detour to National Highway No. 18 during the closed hours.

Outline of road closure work

　上信越自動車道　信濃町IC～中郷IC間は平成9年10月に、中郷IC～上越JCT間は平成11年10月に暫定2車線運用で開通しました。その後、平成24年4月の事業許可変更を受け、4車線化工事を開始していますが、今回の通行止めで、現在上下線として利用している暫定2車線（以下｢開通済み車線｣）を上り線車線に切り替えるための工事を行います。

Specifically, we will carry out pavement work for already opened lanes, relocation and renewal of equipment, and work to switch some of the lanes that our customers pass from already opened lanes to newly constructed lanes.

Lane switching

　10月2日（火）より上信越自動車道　信濃町IC→新井PA間（下り線）において、10月20日（土）より上信越自動車道　新井PA→上越高田IC間（下り線）において、それぞれ一部車線が切り替わります。当該区間を走行されるお客さまには大変ご迷惑をおかけしますが、更なる安全運転に努めていただきますようお願いします。

• Completion of partial expansion to four lanes is scheduled for the end of 2018. Detailed dates and times will be announced as soon as they are decided.
