NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba-ku, Sendai, Regional Head Office president: Mikio Kashima), Check the winter tire installation status and ask the customer to replace the tires early. Therefore, at the major interchanges (ICs) on Expressway, we conducted a winter tire installation survey in early winter.
The results of the survey conducted on December 7 are shown in the table below. The average for the Tohoku region was 84%.
However, in some areas, it may not be snowing as much, and there are areas with low installation rates.
We will continue to carry out a wide range of traffic safety awareness activities on snowy roads, such as wearing winter tires and carrying tire chains, during the "Dr. Mammoshi's Snowy Road Campaign in Tohoku" conducted by our Regional Head Office.
It was the sixth survey this year (finished five times last year), but since it was over 80% of the total in Tohoku as a whole, this survey will be the final one. (Thank you for your cooperation.)
