About result of winter tire wearing situation investigation (the third)

NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City), the winter tires on Expressway are being promoted in order to encourage early winter tire replacement and enlighten safe driving during the full-scale snow season. We have conducted a survey on the installation status of and announced the results.

The results of the survey conducted on November 15 are shown in the table below.

Compared with the previous survey (conducted on November 8th), the winter tire installation rate is higher in the entire Tohoku region, which is equivalent to the installation rate for the same period last year. Especially in Aomori prefecture, Akita prefecture and Yamagata prefecture, about 60% have already installed winter tires.

From now on, we will start a full-scale winter, and it is expected that snow will fall in the northeastern part of the country, the Yamagata road, and the mountainous areas of Ban-Etsu Expressway, so please use Expressway. In that case, please attach a winter tire early and drive safely.

The next survey is scheduled for November 22 (announced November 24).
(The survey date and publication date are subject to change without notice due to weather conditions.)

Survey method: Visually check the tire type of the vehicle passing through the general lane at the tollgate. (One time: 100 units or 30 minutes or more)
"IC" stands for interchange, "PA" stands for parking area.
