NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) is proceeding with emergency repairs for damage to the Expressway caused by the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake that occurred at 14:46 on March 11, 2011. From 6 o'clock on the 24th, it is used by many customers by securing general traffic.

Traffic restrictions associated with restoration work continue in some sections, but we will continue to make every possible effort to restore the road as soon as possible.

We are pleased to announce that some of the tollgate equipment at the Sendai Kohoku Interchange (IC), which was damaged by the tsunami, has been completely restored and some of the equipment can now be used as shown below. This information is also posted on our website.

1. Use of Sendai Kohoku IC (planned)

The Sendai Kohoku IC, which is currently closed, can be used in the Matsushima area as shown below.
The ETC lane cannot be used, so please use a regular lane to obtain a ticket.

2. Precautions when using the Expressway

1) Lane restrictions and speed restrictions are enforced in construction sections, etc., and in part, there are some road steps and wavy road surfaces. Please follow the speed and drive carefully.

2) Refueling may be restricted or may not be possible due to the lack of fuel supply to the gas station. Please cooperate in refueling before using the Expressway.
Refueling is prioritized for emergency vehicles such as police and fire departments. Please refrain from refueling fuel carrying cans.
