[Congestion prediction method]
Based on traffic trends that exclude traffic jams due to unusual events such as accidents and traffic closures from past traffic congestion trends and traffic volume changes, the fluctuations in traffic volume due to the implementation of free measures in the Tohoku region following the Great East Japan Earthquake were added. We predict the time and place of traffic congestion.

[Congestion at toll gates]
Due to the increase in traffic volume due to free measures in the Tohoku region following the Great East Japan Earthquake, further congestion is expected at the following toll gates. (See Attachment 4 [PDF:153KB])

Customers are advised to check the latest traffic information before departing and use the Expressway.

4 Request from NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office

  • Unnecessary congestion on the main line and congestion at toll gates may occur due to the free measures. Please make a comfortable travel plan before going out.
  • Customers who use the free measures to support the victims should prepare the disaster and damage certificates, identification cards such as driver's licenses, and passports in advance so that they can smoothly pass through the toll gate exit. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • At the crowded toll gate exit, please line up according to the use of the general lane and ETC lane according to the lane information signboard and the instructions of the staff.

  • Most troubles can be prevented by inspecting the vehicle before driving.
  • We display warnings for "speed slowdown" at major traffic congestion points, and "Attention for rear-end collisions" for areas with heavy traffic congestion, so we can alleviate traffic congestion and drive safely. Thank you for your cooperation.
  • If you notice a traffic jam ahead, please turn on the hazard lamp and cooperate with the following car to prevent a rear-end collision accident.
