NEXCO EAST　The Tsuruoka Management Office (Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture) will close the E48 Yamagata Expressway (hereinafter referred to as "Yamagata Road") from the Yudono-san Interchange (hereinafter referred to as "IC") to the Shonai-Asahi Interchange on the up and down lines during the night to allow for tunnel lighting system replacement work, etc.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and ask for your understanding and cooperation in allowing extra time for your trip.

1. Closed section and date and time

    Yamagata Expressway, inbound and outbound lanes, Yudonosan IC to Shonai Asahi IC

    • The signs such as E48 attached to each route indicate the route number (numbering) of Expressway, etc.

    May 13th (Mon) - May 31st (Fri), 2024
    8:00pm to 6:00am the following morning (excluding weekends and holidays)

    Monday, June 3, 2024 - Wednesday, June 5, 2024

2. Detour

For detours, please refer to the attached document [PDF: 166KB].
The detour will increase travel time, so please allow yourself plenty of time when traveling.

3. Construction overview

On the Yamagata Expressway Upper and Lower Lines, between Yudonosan IC ⇔ Shonai Asahi IC, we will carry out renewal work due to the aging of tunnel lighting equipment.
In order to minimize inconvenience to our customers, we will close the road at night on weekdays when traffic is low, and carry out construction intensively and efficiently. This is necessary for the safe and comfortable use of Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Four. How to obtain traffic information

  • Notice signs, posters and leaflets will be posted at toll booths and rest facilities nearby.

  • Highway radio (AM1620kHz)
    The highway radio section is indicated by signs on the Expressway.
  • Highway Information Terminal
    We will inform you of road information in an easy-to-understand manner by the monitor screens installed in SA / PA.
  • VICS
    You can get road traffic information with VICS-compatible car navigation and other on-board devices.
  • Information is also distributed on the official X (formerly Twitter) account.
