NEXCO EAST Aomori Management Office (Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture) will be implementing continuous lane restrictions day and night on the E4 Tohoku Expressway (hereinafter referred to as the "Tohoku Expressway") from Towada Interchange (hereinafter referred to as the "IC") to Kosaka IC in order to carry out cut slope reinforcement work.
Please obey the speed limit, maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front, and take sufficient care to avoid rear-end collisions. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause our customers, but this construction is necessary to ensure safe and secure use of Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

2. Construction overview

Ground anchor construction work will be carried out to reinforce the cut slope of Tohoku Expressway between Towada IC and Kosaka IC on Tohoku Expressway Out-bound lane. The work will be carried out in a concentrated and efficient manner to minimize inconvenience to customers. This work is necessary to ensure safe and comfortable use of Expressway, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

3. Requests when using

  1. We do not anticipate any traffic congestion, but if you are planning to use this section, please check the latest road traffic information and allow yourself plenty of time.
  2. As the lanes are narrowing, please observe the speed limit, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and exercise caution to avoid rear-end collisions. Also, as the lanes change significantly before and after the restricted area, please follow local guide signs and other signs when passing through.
  3. Please be aware that construction vehicles will be entering and exiting the area surrounding the construction site, so please be mindful of what is ahead.

4. How to obtain information about Expressway

  • Posters and digital signage will be displayed at nearby toll booths and rest facilities.
