Traffic situation on highway in Bon Festival (preliminary report) 【NEXCO EAST Edition】

NEXCO EAST (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has compiled information on traffic conditions during the Obon period [August 7th (Fri) to August 16th (Sun), 2026: 10 days] and would like to inform you of the details.

Average daily traffic volume was 97% compared to the same period last year.
The number of traffic jams exceeding 10km was 112, an increase of 8 compared to the same period last year.
There were 9 instances of traffic jams exceeding 30km, the same number as the same period last year.
The longest traffic jam was 51.1 km long, starting near the Miyoshi PA on the E17 Kan-Etsu Kan-Etsu Expressway (In-bound) at 5:50 PM on August 16th (Sunday).
