NEXCO EAST Hokkaido Regional Head Office (Atsubetsu Ward, Sapporo City) is congested during the Golden Week (Thursday, April 28, 2011 to Sunday, May 8, 2011: 11 days) due to traffic congestion on the Hokkaido Expressway We have summarized forecasts and countermeasures.
Congestion trends
- May 3rd (Tuesday/holiday) is expected to peak. (See Attachment 1 [PDF: 52KB])
- This traffic congestion forecast is based on the actual traffic volume increase and the traffic congestion situation confirmed during the traffic congestion period such as last week's Golden Week with a special holiday discount and last year's Bon Festival when the free social experiment was started. Please use this traffic congestion forecast to avoid congestion such as shifting the customer's use date and departure time before and after the day or time when congestion is predicted to occur.

Strengthening measures against congestion

Expressway safely and comfortably
Customers who have little experience using Expressway should note the following points. (Attachment 3 [PDF: 366KB])

- There are 3 gas stations in Expressway (Sunagawa SA, Waatsu PA, Usuyama SA). Please check the amount of gasoline remaining before departure.
