<< Review of each area >>

(1) Donan area

  • Due to the maximum of nine consecutive holidays and no major weather changes, traffic volume increased from last year, but there was no traffic congestion.
  • Since there are many road closures due to winter accidents, especially between Ochibe IC and Toyoura IC in the temporary lane section, please drive at a safe speed.

(2) Central area

  • The traffic volume increased from last year due to the fact that the weather was not severely disrupted for up to 9 consecutive holidays.
  • The area around the Kitahiroshima IC, which had predicted traffic congestion, was crowded at the exits every day from January 1 (Wednesday) to January 4 (Saturday), and there was a maximum congestion of 1.0 km on January 3 (Friday). Has occurred. In addition, there were four traffic jams caused by accidents and broken cars.

(3) Northern Hokkaido area

  • The traffic volume increased from last year due to the fact that the weather was not severely disrupted for up to 9 consecutive holidays.
  • Regarding traffic congestion, there were two cases that occurred at the exit IC that became a terminal due to traffic closure.
  • Since there are many road closures due to winter accidents between Asahikawa Takasu IC and Shibetsu Kenbuchi IC, which are in the temporary lane section, please drive slowly and safely.

(4) Eastern Hokkaido area

  • The traffic volume increased from last year due to the fact that the weather was not severely disrupted for up to 9 consecutive holidays.
  • Doto Expressway caused a traffic jam of up to 7.3km. This is probably due to the temporary concentration of vehicles that avoided the road closure due to the accident between the Shimukappu IC and Tomamu IC, which was an adjacent section that occurred just before.
