NEXCO EAST Kanto Regional Head Office (Omiya Ward, Saitama City), on November 21, 2015 (Sat), during the construction of the Oizumi Junction shaft on the Tokyo Outer Ring Road, the pile driver fell over and the ramps around the Gaikan Expressway were turned on. It caused a serious accident that was blocked and closed for a long time.
We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience caused and concern.
We would like to inform you of the results of the investigations that have been carried out on-site so far and the recurrence prevention measures that we have considered for resuming the cause of the accident.
Regarding the construction of the Oizumi Junction shaft, we will reinforce the measures from December 21 (Monday), thoroughly implementing measures to prevent recurrence and paying close attention to safety.
