NEXCO EAST Nagano Construction Office (Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture) will inform you that Expressway renewal work will be carried out from May 2020 on the E18 Joshin-Etsu Expressway and E19 Nagano Expressway in Nagano Prefecture.
In addition, we will inform you again about the construction to start after August.
Renewal work is necessary for the safe and secure use of Expressway.
We will do our best to minimize the inconvenience to our customers, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

2. Construction details
The content of construction number ① is to replace the concrete floor slabs that have been damaged due to aging and the increase in large vehicles with new, more durable concrete floor slabs.

The work items ② and ③ are to reinforce the bumps and damage to the road surface due to the expansion of the ground in the tunnel. In order to create a stronger ring-shaped structure for the tunnel, which is subject to excessive force from the ground, an invert is installed to improve stability.

3. Requests when using
- The construction section will be closed to traffic throughout the day. In some sections, traffic congestion is predicted starting at the construction site, so please leave with plenty of time to spare.
- Since the lanes and road shoulders are narrow, please observe the speed limit when driving, secure a distance between vehicles, and be careful of rear-end collisions. In addition, lanes will change significantly before and after the restricted section, so please follow the local guidance signs.
- Vehicles for construction work may enter and leave the area around the construction site, so please be careful when traveling ahead.
- During the construction period, we will provide congestion information using LED information boards, provide information on construction regulations using road information boards and road signs, and call for caution for safe driving. Please check these information before driving, and please drive safely.
