How to use transit adjustment

ETC customers
  • Customers using ETC are requested to run the outflow designated IC wirelessly and the re-inflow designated IC wirelessly. (No transit certificate will be issued for ETC vehicles)
  • ETC time zone discount will be applied, considering the transited journey as one.
Toll charges are adjusted at the time of billing, so they may differ from those displayed at the toll gate.
  • Insert the same ETC card for all journeys and pass through the ETC lane at the tollgate.
Customers such as cash
  • Customers who pay by cash, etc. should receive the "passage certificate" at the outflow designated IC, and then get the "passport" at the re-inflow designated IC, and then make the "transfer" at the toll booth that pays the fare first. Please give us your "certificate" and "passport".
Common to ETC and cash customers
  • If the suspension of traffic is released after the outflow designated IC is released, the fare will be adjusted even if it is re-introduced from the IC (including the outflow designated IC) in the closed road section in the forward direction.

Four. Construction overview

Between Aizuwakamatsu IC and Niigata Chuo JCT on the Ban-etsu Ban-Etsu Expressway, we will repair damaged road surfaces and construct, inspect, and clean tunnel facilities in the simple median strip section. Since the section concerned has one lane section on one side, it will be closed to traffic. In order to minimize the inconvenience to customers, we will close the road at night on weekdays when the traffic volume is low, and carry out the construction work intensively and efficiently. We ask for your understanding and cooperation as this work is necessary for safe and comfortable use of Expressway.

  1. Guidance by distribution, notice
    • Notice signs, posters and leaflets will be posted at toll booths and rest facilities nearby.
  2. Road traffic information that can be obtained before going out
  3. Road traffic information that can be obtained while using the Expressway
    • Road information board
    • Highway radio (AM1620kHz)
The section where the highway radio is broadcasting is indicated by the sign on Expressway.
    • Highway Information Terminal
Wide-area road traffic information is notified on the monitor screen installed in SA / PA.
    • VICS
Road traffic information can be obtained from devices such as VICS-compatible car navigation systems.
  • Information is also distributed on the official Twitter account.

Regarding the closure of one lane on one side of Ban-Etsu Expressway

In general, on Expressway with two lanes on each side, lane regulations are implemented as appropriate when repairing damaged road surfaces and inspecting various facilities. Since the Ban-Etsu Expressway is a one-lane road, road closures are essential for construction and inspection work. For this reason, Ban-Etsu Expressway is closed twice a year, in spring and autumn, excluding the Golden Week period and the summer congestion period, to ensure the safety and security of Expressway.
We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your understanding and cooperation.
