NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Aoba Ward, Sendai City) is the Expressway in the Tohoku region that we manage during Golden Week [11th April 2016 (Thursday) to 8th May 2016 (Sunday)]. We will inform you about the usage status of.

During this period, the number of vehicles used decreased slightly compared to the previous year, and the number of traffic jams also decreased.

  • Congestion of 10 km or more on the main line occurred 4 times in the Out-bound direction (2 times compared to the previous year) and 3 times in the In-bound direction (1 time compared to the previous year), a total of 7 times (3 times compared to the previous year).
  • The maximum length of congestion on the main line is 22.5 km (+6.5 km compared to the previous year), and on May 3 (Tue) (9:24 to 13:58 peak time 10:55), the Tohoku Expressway Hiraizumi Maesawa IC to Hanamaki Minami IC It occurred in the interval (In-bound line). This traffic jam was caused by the emergency construction and traffic concentration for the accident recovery near Mizusawa IC.
  • The amount of traffic congestion (*) was 240 kmh (about 102% of the previous year), which was almost the same as the previous year.
