NEXCO EAST Tohoku Regional Head Office (Sendai-shi Aoba Ward) is due to traffic concentration on Expressway in the Tohoku region during the Obon period [Saturday, August 6, 2016 to Tuesday, August 16, 2016] We have compiled a traffic jam forecast.

When you use the traffic congestion forecast information and use the Expressway, try to avoid traffic congestion by decentralized use such as shifting the date and time when traffic congestion is predicted to occur, and go out with a comfortable travel plan.

1 Congestion prediction

At Expressway in the Tohoku region, due to the concentration of tourists and homecoming visitors, Tohoku Expressway caused congestion of more than 10 km four times on the Out-bound line and In-bound line. It is estimated that the maximum traffic congestion on the Out-bound line/ In-bound line will be 8 times, which is 12 times. (Attachments 1 and 2 [PDF: 321KB],reference)

[Congestion prediction method]
Congestion prediction takes into account traffic trends and excludes congestion caused by unusual events such as accidents and traffic closures based on past congestion records and changes in traffic volume, and predicts the date and time and place of congestion occurrence. ..
